La industria de la construcción es una de las principales fuentes de contaminación en la actualidad, y por ello, las leyes destinadas a mitigar su impacto, resultan indispensables frente a problemas estructurales como el cambio climático. En esta investigación se analiza la construcción sostenible en Colombia y el Proyecto de Ley 208 2019 del Congreso de la República para su fomento. Se trata de un estudio cualitativo de tipo documental, enmarcado en el paradigma interpretativo. Se analizaron documentos publicados en los últimos cinco años que facilitaron el estudio del tema, así como la última iniciativa del legislativo colombiano para el fomento de la construcción sostenible. Los hallazgos del análisis evidencian, por un lado, una ausencia de estudios relacionados con el impacto de la industria de la construcción en el contexto colombiano, y por otro, una relación directa entre esta actividad económica, el desarrollo sostenible y el cambio climático. El frente legislativo es un escenario de acción para dar respuesta al complejo problema que se puede articular con la construcción sostenible. Se concluye, que en el país aún es incipiente el desarrollo normativo en la materia, y, por tanto, es necesario dar paso a una política pública de mayor alcance.

This study evaluated the environmental impacts of producing 1 kg of biomass for animal feed grown in inland fisheries effluents as a culture medium using the ReCiPe method. Four scenarios with two downstream alternatives were modeled using the life cycle assessment method: Algal Life Feed (ALF), Algal Life Feed with Recycled nutrients (ALF+Rn), Pelletized Biomass (PB), and Pelletized Biomass with Recycled nutrients (PB+Rn). The findings reveal a substantial reduction in environmental impacts when wastewater is employed as a water source and nutrient reservoir. However, the eutrophication and toxicity-related categories reported the highest normalized impacts. ALF+Rn emerges as the most promising scenario due to its reduced energy consumption, highlighting the potential for further improvement through alternative energy sources in upstream and downstream processes. Therefore, liquid waste from fish production is a unique opportunity to implement strategies to reduce the emission of nutrients and pollutants by producing microalgae rich in various high-value-added metabolites.

Water pollution is a worldwide problem. Water consumption increases at a faster rate than population and this leads to a higher pollution rate. Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) include proposals aimed at ensuring the availability of clean water and its sustainable management (Goal 6), as well as the conservation and sustainable use of oceans and seas. The current trend consists in trying to reconcile economic growth with sustainability, avoiding the negative externalities for the environment generated by human activity. More specifically, the objective of this article is to present the evolution of the research regarding the removal of polluting pharmaceuticals that are discharged into wastewater. To do that, a bibliometric analysis of 2938 articles comprising the period 1979–2020 has been carried out. This analysis includes productivity indicators in the scientific field: journals, authors, research institutions and countries. In addition, keyword analysis allows the identification of four main axes of the research regarding the removal of pharmaceutical residues found in wastewater. The first group of articles is aimed at identifying the pharmaceuticals present in polluting effluents. The second and third groups of articles focus on presenting the procedures that enable the treatment of emerging contaminants, either from a biological point of view (second group) or a physicochemical point of view (third group). The fourth group refers to water quality and its possibilities to be reused. Finally, there is a growing trend of worldwide scientific publications, which justifies the importance of polluting residues management, especially those of pharmaceutical origin, in order to achieve a more sustainable society
