Actualmente en Norte de Santander existe gran variedad de yacimientos naturales que se pueden utilizar para fabricar productos de mampostería para la construcción como lo son bloques, tejas, ladrillos, baldosas, entre otros; pero las empresas fabricantes obtienen muchos desperdicios debido a la falta de análisis tecnológicos de la materia prima para pronosticar el comportamiento de las pastas cerámicas y lograr mejorar la calidad del producto final. En el presente trabajo se realizó las caracterizaciones térmicas de dos mezclas de arcillas (m7 y m8) encontradas experimentalmente utilizando el método de moldeo de extrusión y en polvo para la fabricación de bloques H-10 tomando como muestra la materia prima (arcilla) de una empresa dedicada a la fabricación de bloques H-10 en Ocaña, Norte de Santander. El desarrollo de la investigación se llevó a cabo mediante la ejecución de ensayos térmicos a las muestras de arcillas con los que se determinaron los porcentajes pérdida de peso respecto a las temperaturas obtenidas en un diagrama con las curvas de ATD y ATG. Los resultados obtenidos demuestran que las mezcla m7 encontrada experimentalmente presenta mejores características en el proceso de cocción por lo que se estableció una curva de cocción óptima para la fabricación del bloque H-10 teniendo en cuenta las especificaciones del proceso productivo y la materia prima, con lo que se espera mejorar la calidad del producto final cumpliendo las especificaciones de las normas actuales vigentes. Es indispensable caracterizar las arcillas para optimizar la pasta de producción y evitar imperfecciones en el producto final (Bloque H-10) con lo que evidentemente se mejoraran los recursos ambientales y económicos de la empresa.

Nowadays, the companies with national leadership have decided to provide services that allow the industries to give solutions for manufacturing, repair, reconstruction, maintenance and supply to the necessary tools necessary for the operation of the machinery required in the development of projects. The objective of this work is based on the identification of the relationship and points of convergence between the ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 50001:2011, and OHSAS 18001:2007 standards, for the implementation of the IMS- HSE (Integrated Management System and Health, Safety and the Environment respectively), in companies in the metal-mechanical sector that develop their economic activity in Colombia. An analysis of the regulatory structure was conducted, identifying common and no n-common aspects to find a compliance baseline that provides business leaders with a decision-making tool for implementing Geographical Information System (GIS) and HSE aimed at continuous improvement. The re sult of this research offers a characterization regarding scope, planning, performance evaluation and development in legal terms, applied to the systems integrated into the service company in the metal-mechan ical sector. So that, the results can be used as an operational and organizational tool that provides them with a characterist ic of viability, competitiveness, and profitability compared to companies in the same dynamic scenario, guaranteeing compliance with the legal commitments of the Colombian regulatory framework.

In the present investigation, the effect of main parameters for the development of parts in production such as feed rate and depth were evaluated, obtaining the machining costs depending on the characteristics of the material. The machining process used was that of turning in pieces with carbon steels and cast iron as the base material, varying the feed rate in a range between 0.2mm/tooth and 0.8mm/tooth and the depth between 1mm and 4mm allowing important parameters to be determined such as cutting speed and machine operating conditions to obtain a good final finish without affecting the surface of the piece and in production time required to optimize costs.

This paper presents a bibliometric study focused on the research carried out in the last 11 years on biodiesel as an alternative fuel. Tools such as HistCite were used to manage metadata found using the Web of Science search engine, including author names, titles, abstracts, publication dates, document types, addresses and references cited. In addition, the impact factor and H index of the journals they published were taken into account to analyze the reliability of the research. The study showed a tendency to increase over the years, from 76 publications in 2007 to a total of 2017 in 2017, an increase of 185.71%. Likewise, it was concluded, among other things, that of the 1423 documents obtained to carry out the study, 84.7% were scientific articles, being the majority of the works carried out, followed by the revisions that reached 5.8%. And that magazines such as FUEL, ENERGY & FUEL and ENERGY were among those that contributed the most to this research. In addition, it was demonstrated that the countries most interested in this technology are India, USA and Peoples R China, being these the ones with more than 254, 222 and 119 publications respectively.

The Rankine cycle is a thermodynamic cycle widely used in power plants, specifically in steam power plants, due to its great importance in the industry. It has also been studied in recent years in search of parameters that can optimize the cycle by reducing losses and thus increase efficiency, so that improvements have been made in the process such as overheating of steam at the turbine inlet, and even regeneration of water at the boiler inlet. In this work a process of optimization of a Rankine cycle was presented by complementing it with an open feed water heater which not only improves the efficiency of the cycle, but also provides a convenient means of de-aeration of the feed water to prevent corrosion in the boiler, in which it was carried out under the assumption of a stationary flow, and without significant changes in the kinetic and potential energy, that is, assuming an ideal process, all this with the aim of obtaining the highest thermal efficiency and the lowest exergetic losses in the cycle, carrying out several case studies with the assistance of Unisim with temperature variations at the turbine inlet and at the source to observe how this affects the exergetic efficiency and exergy destroyed in the turbine and it was concluded that this is reflected in the production of mechanical energy useful for creating electrical energy because a variation in these parameters could cause job losses in the turbine and decrease in the exergetic efficiency of the system which in turn would lead to a decrease in the network of the system.

This article presents the development of some case studies on shell and tube heat exchangers using a graphical interface developed in MATLAB®. Through the case studies, the variation in the performance of the equipment was determined by means of the heat transfer coefficient in function of some parameters such as mass flow and tube arrangements, establishing initial conditions for each run that were established in the software. Likewise, the article shows in detail the methodology with which the study was developed, the fundamental equations used to calculate these results and the graphs obtained. Through this study, it was verified that the variables studied had such an influence on the parameters evaluated, with the objective of establishing selection and operation criteria when designing a shell and tube heat exchanger.

An experimental model of the honing process oriented towards the honing operation for very fine finished is development. A two-level design of experiments has been carried out with three factors and a replica. We chose the factors that have been shown to be most significant in honing machining such as grain size and pressure. In addition, as in honing, the angle of scratching is important and depends on the relationship between the two speeds, linear velocity VL and tangential velocity VT, one of them has also been chosen, the linear velocity VL, and the other velocity VT is kept constant. By varying only VL, the scratch angle is varied and the tangential speed VT is kept constant, the number of factors is reduced and the number of tests is reduced. The variable with the greatest influence and which is present in a significant way in all the output parameters is the abrasive grain size Gst, the pressure parameters P and linear velocity VL did not show to be particularly decisive in the finishing phase, especially for the roughness parameters. In this research we analyze the state of the art of the technological developments that are being presented by the scientific community to mitigate the strong environmental changes with renewable energies. The results obtained by the bibliometric techniques in the period 2007-2018 show that in the 1900 published articles the People's Republic of China presents the highest volume of 32.3% of the total publications, showing a strong influence on the development of energy storage technologies and the availability of materials. The results presented in this article allow us to evaluate the development of researchers in this alternative of energy storage as a replacement to the distribution that is done with traditional methods.

Regenerative vibration is a major drawback in machining processes reducing the geometric accuracy and dynamic stability of the cutting system. Achieving a dynamically stable cutting operation represents a significant decrease in the production time and therefore in the costs associated with this process. The information provided by the stability lobe diagrams is of great importance, since from them we know the range of spindle rotation speeds and chip thicknesses at which the cutting operation takes place in a state free from the phenomenon of regenerative chatter, avoiding the rapid wear of the cutting tool and achieving quality surface finishes. In the present investigation, the behavior of the turning operations in steel 1020, steel 1035 and steel 1045 is characterized, with the objective of verifying the presence of instability in the machining caused by the regenerative chattering in the machine tools. Based on the analytical models proposed by Altintas and Budak for the stabilization of self-excited vibrations, a computer tool is developed capable of generating stability lobe diagrams, which allow us to appreciate the operating conditions in which machining presents stable behavior, to simulate the material removal process considering certain parameters specific to the machine tool.

The reduction of the amount of pollution and toxicity by the manufacture of products has been a topic widely investigated by many international organizations, looking for an answer that help humanity to minimize the environmental impact. The main objective of this paper is to study the literature of Green engineering from 2007 to 2017 using bibliometric techniques for obtaining an overview of the production behavior of publications in this topic. The information was discharged and analyzed using tools such as Web of Science (WOS) and HistCite to get important results of the international contribution developing significant advances in this area. According to the results obtained, USA has been the most important country researching in this subject, providing 36.8% of the total publications. From the 257 publications, 60.9% were journal articles, where the Abstracts of papers of the American Chemical Society was the most relevant journal with 14 papers. Between 2014 and 2017 an important increase in the published production was presented, being 2016 the year with the most papers published with 15.6% of total investigations. In recent years, green engineering has been consider in many process on industries as a key tool to help the control of the greenhouse emissions, reducing the environmental impact providing some steps to achieve goals proposed for 2050 according to the ISO 50001 standard.Introducción.

Se presentan a continuación los resultados de la investigación sobre la Administración por Valores como estrategia de mejoramiento del clima organizacional empresarial en organizaciones localizadas en la ciudad de Valledupar, cuyo objetivo general fue establecer un programa de Administración por Valores como estrategia de mejoramiento del clima organizacional empresarial para lo cual se identificó la situación actual del clima organizacional que presenta la empresa; se determinó los valores que harán parte del programa de Administración por Valores y diseñan estrategias para la implementación de un programa de Administración por Valores. Para lo anterior se desarrolló un diagnóstico de la situación actual del clima organizacional; se establecen las debilidades, fortalezas, amenazas y oportunidades para el diseño e implementación del programa de Administración por Valores. De acuerdo a lo anterior, Existe la necesidad de formar y crear estrategias de compensación, distintas a las económicas, dentro de las empresas, y que se convierten en elementos motivadores y potenciadores de buen clima organizacional; la implementación del programa Administración por valores, permite generar una mejor actitud de parte de todo el personal de las empresas, desde los administrativos, operarios y comerciales, hacia el trabajo y el relacionamiento entre ellos. A scientometric analysis of the production of scientific publications on emissions control from 2007 to 2017 was carried out. HistCite was used to analyze information collected from Web of Science (WoS) on this topic during this period. The results suggest that scientific publications in this field have steadily increased over the years during the last decade. China is the country with the highest number of publications, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences represents the institution with the highest number of publications. Most of the papers and citations came from developed countries. The top three journals with highest number of papers in this field are Applied Physics Letter, Atmospheric Environment, and Environmental Science & Technology.

This article presents the study of the surface roughness inside cylinders, machined by honing in industrial honing machines, with a detailed review of the variability of the values obtained in the measurement of the machined surface. The determination of the amount of measurement data on the cover is displayed to get characteristic mean values of the measured surface. For this reason, and due to the randomness of the surfaces machined by honing, an experimental study has been proposed to carry out this analysis, where the roughness has been measured with a roughness meter with a contact probe, since this type of instrument is widely used academically and especially industrially, and is apparently standardized by international standards such as ISO 3274 or ASME B46.1.

This article analyses the hardness of ASTM-A36 steel both in its delivery state and after various cutting processes. The material was cut with different methods conventionally used in the metal-mechanic and construction industry, in addition to other non-conventional processes used to a lesser extent in the industry. In addition, similar cuts were made to maintain test homogeneity and to analyze the faces of the cut on each specimen in a similar manner. Among the conventional cuts made to the specimens are the milling machine, oxy-cutting and cutting machine, while the non-conventional ones were applied by EDM and plasma, maintaining as far as possible similar cutting and working parameters. Subsequently, the hardness of the cut surface of each of the specimens was studied using an AFFRI 250 DMRC durometer, which allowed quantifying the changes in the material depending on the cutting method used and defining according to each method that may affect the final application of the material. The graphical results allowed a comparative analysis of all the methods used, as well as the differences found between them and to obtain important conclusions that can be used in the new techniques of the manufacturing processes.

Clay surface characteristics using atomic force microscopy

The first component for the manufacture of masonry products used in construction is clay, which provides the plasticity that facilitates the molding and handling of the product. The second component is the feldspar in form of alumina (Al2O3) which is used as flux. The third one is silica (SiO2) which is used as a filling material and stabilizer. These elements are determined by chemical composition using fluorescence analysis or X-ray diffraction, which is the basis of the modern classification of minerals. Thereby, the main objective of this research is to study the surface characteristics of clay samples from an industrial company producing H-10 blocks in the region of Norte de Santander, by studying the surfaces of the samples selected through the analysis by Atomic Force Microscopy, in order to compare the results with those found in the literature, and at the same time taking into account the chemical elements in their highest composition. The results show that this is a technique that allows the identification of clay components, thus validating what has been found in physical and chemical analysis, expecting to provide a scientific contribution by AFM, because there is little information related to the characterization topography of clay materials.

A comparative study of the cutting parameter in milling process under different material

In the present study, the incidence of the variation in feed rate per tooth and depth of cut for SAE 4340 alloy steel and SAE J431 steel castings was analysed and in which material this variation is most noticeable. For this purpose, the machining process studied was milling. This is a machining operation in which a workpiece is passed in front of a rotating cylindrical tool with multiple cutting edges. For this study, the feed rate per tooth and depth of cut were varied by 4 values each. The feed rate ranged from 0.002 mm to 0.008 mm and the depth of 2 mm to 8 mm found that for both parameter variations cutting speeds always decrease with increasing both feed per tooth and depth of cut and that feed per tooth and depth of cut significantly affect process costs.
